Urban legends from across the world going back several decades tell of a Silent Wanderer who appears out of nowhere and helps those who have reached their most desperate moment.
No one is sure where these legends began or if theyre even true. Hard evidence like photographs seem to be scarce, and what little exists is brief and questionable. Eyewitness accounts are also hard to come by, as those giving testimony usually are coming from an intense, emotionally-charged experience that would frazzle even the strongest nerves.
Stories about him are varied, and certainly he cant have traveled the entire world over the last five or six decades--most likely these legends combine several characters into one. But it is curious that they all agree on certain, specific details: he is mute, but he has excellent hear; he has sharp claws that can be detach and return (most likely this is some weapon or combination of weapons); he has traveling companions; he wears read; he is led by a round, handheld device that points him to those who need him most; his gymnastics and fighting abilities are unparalleled.
So is this urban legend more than just a story people whisper at night? The world may never know.
